Kenny Ball:
In this first year who better to launch this new show on the Friday evening than Kenny Ball, a genuine institution and one of the most successful trumpet players this side of the Atlantic.
Surely one of the greatest tests of any artist's success is his durability and Kenny Ball is still so well known and well loved. A living legend who with wit, style and passion, along with his jazz men, sends clear notes out to fill space and bones. [ www.kennyball.co.uk ]

The Cotton Club:
Saturdays are traditionally dance evenings and "The Cotton Club Revue", represented by "Harry Strutter's Hot Rhythm Orchestra", will be there to thrill. An action packed show celebrating the music, dance and songs of the Cotton Club, the famous nightclub, which flourished in New York's Harlem in the 1920's and 1930's. With style and panache they communicate the exuberance of the music from that era and star vocalist Tony Jacobs pays his unique tribute to the great singers, who appeared at the club, including Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington amongst many others. A Saturday night dance mood from times past will be recreated by the fabulous "Jiving Lindy Hoppers", whose exciting and acrobatic dance routines will set feet tapping and hands clapping.

Mishka Adams:
One of the purposes of this new show is to promote and encourage new and young talent and without a doubt this criteria is fulfilled with the introduction both evenings to the charismatic innocence of Mishka Adams.
Mishka's artistic roots were established at a young age influenced by the creativity of both her parents; Filipina visual artist, Agnes Arellano and British writer, Michael Adams. From the age of 3 Mishka immersed herself in music with jazz as the lynch pin of her creativity. She writes, composes, sings and plays both the guitar and saxophone performing at many jazz venues throughout the Philippines including the musical spectacular, "Jazz in Time" in Manila, where her impeccable rendition of Billie Holiday's signature song, 'God Bless the Child', earned her the immediate accolade of the audience. Moving to England she has performed more recently at Pizza Express in London delighting UK jazz fans. Mishka is singed up with Candid records and regularly jams with the raw and exciting new star of jazz, Jamie Cullum. [ www.mishkaadams.com ]
